Wow what a fall from grace. This place has gone so far down I cannot recommend it any more

This place seems to be poorly managed and understaffed. Came here for lunch at 2:30 on a Sunday. Waited by the bar for 5 minutes before being acknowledged by the bartender/hostess. Waited a few more minutes for a table to be cleared so that my family could be seated. Then waited over 10 minutes at the table for menus/water/"I'll be right with you"/something. We then left -- I'm sure that no worker even noticed.

This is probably your only place to get decent food in Cripple Creek that isn't a casino. We got The Works pizza, which is astonishing stack of almost any topping you can think of on one pie. It wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't a great pizza. The toppings were fresh and plentiful, though. It also cost $27, which isn't mentioned in the menu. The waitstaff was very nice. If you want a good pizza, stop at McGinty's in Divide on your way to Cripple Creek and get a fantastic pizza there instead.

We have the five dollar hamburger special with crispy french fries. It was really nice lunch!

Not worth it! Came here after another yelp recommendation. Had to wait forever for food. Even though I saw it in kitchen window. Had to send food back bc it was cold. Asked for silverware and condiments 3 times before getting it. I finally went back to the kitchen to get condiments. So frustrating!!

Had an excellent BLT and the service was good. Came here based on Yelp reviews. If you're in Cripple Creek and want to eat in a non-Casino atmosphere...this place is a good option.

Manager is a useless person. If someone wants their order a certain way, that's how you give it to them. I don't need a lesson on why a burger was cooked the way I didn't ask for it to be cooked... Just serve me my food. Mostly everything that came out was incorrect.

It's was good and we went 2 nights in a row. Everything is homemade and delicious! The service is relaxed, go have a good time and hang with the locals. We tried the red chili, burger, handcut fries, pizza and pork sammich over our 2 visits. The pork is a two day process marinated in bourbon on shock top ale. The owner was so pleased that we were trying it that she brought out a taste without BBQ sauce. It was heavenly and I have to replicate it at home. It's not in a casino and is a friendly place to be.

Sadly, this is one of the worst fried mushrooms, hamburger and pizza we have ever had. Husband and I were very disappointed.

The food was amazing. My husband had one of the burgers and I had the pulled pork sandwich. We also had a local beer and a local chardonnay and they were delicious as well. The service as Greg too. If you're in Cripple Creek, this place is a must.

What a charming place. Really liked the atmosphere. I had the chili cheese fries. The chili was very meaty and thick. Lots of cheese and onions. My husband had the chili burger and said it was great. We'll definately go back when we're in the area. Oh yes great service.

Great burgers made from angus meat! The servings are very generous, especially the kid's meals. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are very well maintained and clean. Great place to eat and will probably become our go-to lunch location when we're in town!

The food was okay and the service was not that great. You walk in and stand there waiting to find out if you seat yourself or are seated ... The waitress got our order wrong twice. It took forever for us to get served. The wings are drowning in sauce and way overcooked. The bartender was friendly, which was the only real positive thing to be said of our experience.

Our trip to "The Creek" left me with mixed emotions. Let my summarize everything first, then break it down for the people who want details. The food was pretty good. The location was nicely decorated and it was clean. However the service was atrocious and the management matched. I get that cripple creek is a quiet mountain community that does things a little differently then more metropolitan areas but when you run a restaurant you are catering to the customers. In most cases, this would include, if not exclusively, a large majority of tourists. In "The Creeks" defense we may have had a waitress in training that initiated lots of the issues we experienced, but the way management "resolved" our particular situation was completely unprofessional. I was part of a party of 5 adults 2 kids. Many of us ordered the elk and buffalo burgers. I ordered mine well done as did another person in our party. Many of us ordered elk and buffalo for the first time. To my surprise you order the ground meat like steak. When our food came out many of the items were incorrect. The burgers came out open face with vegetables but no sauces were on the table nor were they offered. Since they only had two chefs our food came out tapered in time. By the time we were all ready to eat my food was cold. One of the people in our party ordered a buffalo burger well done that came to her rare. She asked the waitress to take it back and cook it longer so she would get it well done like she ordered it. The waitress said it wouldn't be an issue but then about 10 minutes later we were approached by the manager who very begrudgingly spoke to us with a scolding-mother tone in her voice. At first she whined about how expensive elk and buffalo meat is. Then complained that she had the cooks remake the burger even though it was made already made "properly" ( not the way it was ordered) She continued on to explain to everyone that it's not proper to cook buffalo or elk well done because the meat is very lean like steak so doing that would just result in a tough burger and there isn't anything that she will do at that point. I understood the point she was trying to make, as I love my steak rare and there is no threat with food born illness with densely packed muscle tissue like steak. Ground meat however does pose a threat and when is it appropriate to ever tell your customer what they want and how they are going to eat their food? Her approach was completely inappropriate as she made everyone in the party very uncomfortable about the entire situation. Let me remind you, prior to ordering, the waitress didn't explain anything about elk or buffalo meat being traditionally rare when we were ordering, nor is there any documentation in the menu, which is unprofessional if your going to get a scolding for not ordering your food the managers "proper" way. The entire situation was totally avoidable if they had put something on the menus or had the waitresses explain to customers the delicacies of elk and buffalo before the customers order them "incorrectly". My elk burger was ordered well done and it came out tender, contrary to the managers advice. Aside from the awkward social interaction with the manager, the rest of the service was very sparse. Our drinks frequently went empty for very long periods of time. We requested ranch dressing halfway through our meal to dress the plain burgers up. The waitress did bring them out but charged us for them without letting us know before hand. In summary this location suffers from poor management and service. The food is tasty if you're willing to deal with the aforementioned problems before, during, or after your dining experience. My advice is to try something else. We won't be going back.

Good food! Had the angus burger and it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, it was really juicy and you could tell made fresh. The fried mushrooms were awesome and huge! Great place and the cook was the nicest guy you could meet! Had a nice conversation with him about the food and his meatloaf recipe which I will be trying very soon! Totally recommend this place!

Sat at the bar and was waited on by Vince. Things were a little chaotic in there given the biker rally going on that weekend, however our server was very nice and took an item off our bill due to the wait we experienced without even asking for it. Had the buffalo and elk burgers with fries and a side of fried mushrooms, which are all made in house. For being in the middle of a little casino town in the middle of nowhere, everything was surprisingly good.
